The Van 't Lindenhout Museum illustrates the history of as many as 20,000 orphaned children who once found their homes in the former orphanage. The museum primarily provides insights into life within the institution itself but gives less attention to the personal stories of the orphaned children. Our task was to highlight these individual stories.
For the development of the application, we conducted extensive research on the museum, the orphaned children, usability, and UI/UX design. Based on the research findings, we then designed wireframes in three different styles.
The WeesWijzer app was then transformed into an XD prototype and presented to the client along with a tangible diary. The physical diary narrates the life of a specific child. A team that can first guess which child the diary belongs to wins the game. Different parts of the diary are collected by answering quiz questions in the museum correctly. The concept of the Van 't Lindenhout Museum was positively received, and the museum will further develop and implement the game.
